Cert III in Animal Studies

Please note: All prices include resource fees, tuition, and administration fees. Additional fees may apply if you do not pass a subject, you need to re-enrol in a subject for any reason, or you extend your enrolment period.

Please budget approximately $100 to $150 for additional textbooks. You will also need to budget $40 per year for work experience insurance if you are located outside Queensland.

Option 1: Full Course with additional units   $3495 

Enrol in the 12 units necessary to complete your Cert III plus 5 additional Cert IV units covered by the subjects you study and complete assessments for.

That means you’ll have completed 17 units in total, of which 13 count towards the Cert IV (leaving only 10 further units needed to gain your Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing). You can gain credit from these units towards your Cert IV at any registered training organisation, not just the Australian College of Veterinary Nursing.

What if I have other credit transfers?

In some instances, you may have further credits you can use towards the Cert III. We usually suggest "saving" these for the Cert IV and selecting units you have not already completed.

This then allows you to complete even more units from the Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing by substituting your credited units for others still not completed. To avoid confusion, it’s best to discuss your options directly with us once we’ve reviewed your application and transcript of previous studies.

Secure your place with a first instalment of $495. Then simply pay 12 x $250/month, starting from your course start date.

Option 2: Top Up to the ACVN Cert II in Animal Studies  $1595

Available only if you’ve completed a Cert II in Animal Studies with ACVN. 

Enrol in only those subjects you need to make up the Cert III in Animal Studies and, depending on your Cert II in Animal Studies intake start date, get bonus units for your Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Option 3: Self Paced - Start Any Time    $3695

Enrol and start at anytime with the same units as Option 1 (full course plus additional units towards Cert IV). 

Receive your course materials on enrolment and start studying within a week. 

You won’t have set due dates for each subject, but you must complete the entire course within 2 years. Please note: Additional fees do apply to extend your course duration if you don’t finish in time. 

Instalment plans are not available for this option – you must pay the entire course fee upon enrolment.

Is government funding available?

Yes. For Queensland residents Government funding is available for the standard and self paced Cert III in Animal Studies.

Unfortunately Government funding is not available for other states at this stage.  However, we do encourage you to contact your local job seeker service or apprenticeship centre for further suggestions.

If you live in Queensland, please send in your first instalment with your enrolment forms (after application), and we’ll advise how much funding you’re eligible for.

As a guide, most students receive around 50% funding towards the course.
